TikTok funny to hear the rage against the machine for the first time
Comedian Jacob Givens racked up millions of views on TikTok last week. His’ 90s nostalgia videos show what it was like to hear Rage Against The Machine, Nirvana, and others for the first time.
In the middle of last week, Rage Against The Machine started trending on Twitter. It happened after someone tweeted one of Jacob Givens ‘TikTok videos where he captures the nostalgia of’ 90s music.
The format of these TikTok videos is generally the same. He plays the two friends having a conversation while the music is playing. And it’s this guy’s energy that makes these videos so perfect.
TikTok videos look funky sometimes on this site, so here’s the Twitter version as well as the TikTok clip from his channel. This first video is the clip for Rage Against The Machine, but I also included the Nirvana and Radiohead videos.
I certainly didn’t react to every song on Rage Against The Machine this way, but I remember hearing my older brother play it for the first time and I was stunned. It was one of those moments that changed my music world forever in an instant.
Here’s Jacob Givens’ TikTok on what it was like to hear Radiohead’s “ Creep ” for the very first time in 1992, and Nirvana’s “ Smells Like Teen Spirit ” below:
If you haven’t yet followed @brobible on TikTok, please do so now. Our guy Grayson is killing him over there with some videos you might not see here on the website or on our Instagram, but they are fantastic.
I had never heard of comedian Jacob Givens until last week. When I saw the first video for Rage Against The Machine, I thought it was a young drummer Phish Jon Fishman. But I snapped that “follow” button immediately because her clips are fantastic so far. Go throw him a follow-up too!
Here’s another TikTok for good measure:
They are all so good. If any of these videos don’t load, you can click on them to visit TikTok directly.
