Thomas Rhett makes virtual stop on ‘The Voice’ finale
Thomas Rhett made a special stop on The voice Tuesday night (May 25), appearing remotely to perform her current single, “Country Again”.
“Country Again” is the title song of his latest release, Country Again: Face A, which was released at the end of April and is the first opus of a double album. This is one of the more traditional singles that Rhett has released in years, a trend that is audible throughout his new album, which was the product of his 40s and the need to slow down and get back to his roots in the midst of the pandemic.
The location of Rhett’s “Country Again” performance was not immediately apparent, although it seemed to fit her themes of reconnecting with her country roots. He performed in a casual setting with a carpeted floor, an acoustic guitar slung over his shoulder.
Rhett is one of many special guests who have signed up for The voiceseason finale. Another of Tuesday night’s performers is Kelsea Ballerini, who took the stage in person and even asked team finalist Kelly Kenzie Wheeler to duet with her for her new single, “Half of My Hometown.”
At the end of the night, the top 5 candidates were reduced to one The voice Season 20 champion, following live fan voting in the contestants’ performances on Monday night (May 24). Each of the show’s coaches entered Tuesday’s episode with a runner-up, except for Blake Shelton, who had two: Cam Anthony and Jordan Matthew Young.
In the end, it was Anthony who brought home the title of Voice champion, giving Shelton his eighth win as a coach across the show. Kenzie Wheeler, Team Kelly’s campaign contender, was the season finalist.
