Adequate Phil
Psychedelic folk band Adequate Phil have released a double single, “Baby Leeches/Vessel”. Both sides are experimental tracks, especially “Vessel”, which is more atmospheric audio than a traditional song. “Baby Leeches” almost follows in its footsteps, until vocals and a recurring melody come in halfway through. With its whispering background of spirit guides and crystal caves, “Vessel” feels like a window into another world. Troy freak-folk band’s Spotify bio cites Animal Collective, The Beatles, Unknown Mortal Orchestra and Radiohead as major influences.
Joe De Felice
Singer-songwriter Joe DeFelice has released his debut EP, Outside, inside. Originally from New Hampshire, DeFelice has been a fixture in live music since moving to upstate New York. The penultimate song on Outside, inside“We Fell Apart” is upbeat and anthemic despite its bittersweet lyrics:
grape juice!
Albany alternative rock band grape juice! is back with another song, “Goodbyes Suck”. Like their previous single, “Sad Songs,” its title is misleading: the narrator seems more than happy to get back to his life after a breakup.
