‘The Voice’ singer joins Blake team with Kelsea Ballerini Hit

Blake Shelton has landed a strong new squad member for his season 21 The voice team Tuesday evening (September 21). Lana Scott picked the country superstar as her coach after auditioning with Kelsea Ballerini’s âHole in the Bottle,â but not before some serious back-and-forth between Shelton and rival coach Kellly Clarkson.
Scott is 28 and in her intro video she said she has been pursuing a career in country music for a decade now. She grew up with country music, and her grandmother and father were huge fans of country music.
Scott describes herself as “pop-country,” but she delivered a fairly traditional vocal tilt to the Ballerini hit, gaining chair turns from Shelton and Clarkson. Shelton praised her authentic, “whiny” country vocal style, giving Clarkson the opportunity to argue that she should coach Scott. The pop superstar praised Scott’s “really cool stylized country sound … I wouldn’t call it whiny.”
Shelton and Clarkson engaged in a heated debate over which of them would serve as the best coach for the aspiring country singer, and although Scott expressed that she hoped to work with Clarkson ahead of her audition, she ended up choosing Shelton. , who is the only remaining original coach and won The voice more times than any other trainer.
Season 21 of The voice premiered Monday night (September 20), and Shelton is already building a strong team. He scored a very powerful singer Monday night with Wendy Moten, who auditioned with “We Can Work It Out” by The Beatles. Her blind audition drew a round of four chairs from Shelton, Clarkson, John Legend and Ariana Grande, and Shelton hailed her as “one of the top three blind auditions for. The voice, All the time.”
Shelton also added Peedy Chavis, 19, on Monday night after auditioning with Elvis Presley’s âHeartbreak Hotelâ.
The voice Airs Monday and Tuesday evenings at 8 p.m. ET on NBC.
