Souvenir shopping: the homonymous center allows visitors to take home a piece of Bob Dylan | Way of life
Visitors to the Bob Dylan Center can spend hours inside the museum and not learn everything about the legendary musician. The center’s gift shop is full of items that allow fans to continue their education after they leave.
“We not only pride ourselves on being the one stop shop not only for all things Bob Dylan, but we also offer items that will inspire customers to explore their own creativity. From clothing and memorabilia to our huge selection of books and vinyl records to specialty gifts, we’ve got something for everyone, whether you’re a lifelong Dylan fan or just have an interest in toes.” , declares Meagan Mulgrew, merchandise buyer for American Song Archives, which operates the Bob Dylan Center. “We work with amazing photographers, designers and local printers when sourcing our apparel (thanks to Mythic Press!). Plus, many of our special gifts are produced by small business owners and artists in across the United States.
There are many books about Dylan, as well as books about and by musical artists who collaborated with or were inspired by the legendary musician. There are also books for the young music fans in your family.
Along one wall are dozens of Dylan records spanning his 60-year career available on vinyl. There are also selections of musicians like george
Harrisson, John Mellencamp, bruce Springsteen and more. Many concert films and documentaries are also available.
“The Bob Dylan Center not only celebrates Dylan and his legacy, but also the artists and musicians who influenced him or were influenced by him. It was important that our selection of records reflect this creative relationship,” says Mulgrew.
Special collaborations have been made with several product lines exclusively for the Centre, such as Blackwing. A limited-edition set of 12 iconic pencils — the writing utensil of choice for creatives like Dylan throughout the 20th century — can only be found at the gift shop for $29.95.
For those who have all the books and records, there are plenty of other Bob Dylan Center memorabilia like hats, shirts, accessories, and glassware.
