CHEBOYGAN – Ann Arbor singer and songwriter Kitty Donohoe performs at the Play the Carnegie concert series from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday, October 24.

Donohoe – perhaps best known for her Michigan Emmy-winning song, “There Are No Words” – recently posted the official video for the song, now available on Facebook, You Tube, and kittydonohoe.com.

The song was also used in the movie “The Nation Remembers – the Story of the Pentagone 9/11 Memorial”. She also appeared at the Pentagon for the dedication of the Pentagon Memorial on 9/11.

Donohoe grew up in a large, creative family outside of Detroit and has been “inventing” songs for as long as she can remember. She describes her music as “folk, blues, Irish, American and Canadian”.

Donohoe supports his songs on piano, guitar and citrus, which is a large mandolin.

During his high school years, Donohoe performed at cafes and open mic parties.

Over the years she has opened for many well-known artists, and in 2008 she and sideman David Mosher took to the stage just before Bruce Springsteen. Since the late 1980s she has recorded six critically acclaimed CDs.

The Play the Carnegie series, in its fifth season, offers concerts on the second and fourth Sunday of the month, until Sunday, December 12.

Admission is by donation.
