Sara Bareilles, Cher, Bruce Springsteen are all up for Emmy nominations
Grammy nominations are nothing new for Expensive, Sara Bareilles and Bruce Springsteen, but they’re no strangers to Emmy nominations, either. And all three are up for recognition again this year in the musical Emmy categories, Variety reports.
Cher, who has six career Emmy nominations and one win, wrote her song “Walls,” from her documentary Smithsonian Channel / Paramount + Dear and the loneliest elephant.
Bruce, who has been a three-time Emmy nominee, entered the Musical Composition category for a limited series, movie, or special for the Apple TV movie + Bruce Springsteen‘s letter to you.
Sara, who has also had three previous Emmy nods, has plenty of entries this year, thanks to her comedy series Peacock. Girls5eva, in which she plays and writes music for, and the Apple TV + series Small voice, for which she produced and wrote music. She wrote two songs for Girls5Eva – “I’m Afraid” and “4 Stars” – as well as the theme of the main title for Small voice, plus a song she wrote for herself, “Simple and True”, and an episode highlight.
Other musicians competing for the Emmy this year include Beyonce, Dolly parton, Janelle Monae, Questlove, Branford Marsalis and HER. Emmy nominations will be announced on July 13.
