After a number of tributes to the music of Prince and David Bowie at festivals such as Catskill Chill, Wanee and Adirondack Independence Music Festival, the Prince/Bowie concept blossomed into a band. The band fronted by Pink Talking Fish bassist Eric Gould has announced lineups for a series of spring tour dates.
Gould will be joined for every upcoming Prince/Bowie gig by fellow bandmate PTF guitarist Cal Kehoe as good as The horn section (Josh Schwartz, Greg Sanderson and Chris Browers formerly from Turkuaz). First up for the ensemble is a performance at So Many Roads Brewery and Museum in Denver on March 13. The lineup in Denver will be completed by Lotus’ chuck morris on percussion and drummer of Pink Talking Fish Zack Burwick and keyboard player Richard James.
Prince/Bowie will next perform at Putnam Place in Saratoga Springs, New York with James on keyboards, Adrian Tramontano (Kung Fu/The Breakfast) on drums and saxophonist matt wayne (Bobby Deitch Band) joining Gould, Kehoe and The Horn Section. Finally, the Prince/Bowie tributes will take place in Norwalk, Connecticut on April 29 and in Beverly, Massachusetts on April 30 with Eric Gould, Cal Kehoe, The Horn Section, Matt Wayne, drummer Mikey Carubba (formerly from Turkuaz) and keyboardist Alric “AC” Carter (TAUK).
