Power of Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band hit the stage
The Boss – Bruce Springsteen Tribute Show is coming to Palmerston North next week.
The hardest part of touring a Bruce Springsteen tribute was deciding which of the legendary rocker’s hits to leave out.
The Boss – Bruce Springsteen Tribute Show has launched a tour of New Zealand and will play at Regent on Broadway in Palmerston North next Wednesday.
The big band formation mimics Springsteen’s E Street Band.
Frontman and lead singer Dean Shaw said the tour started to a packed house in Wellington and by the time they arrived in Palmerston North they would be well trained.

“We try very hard to emulate the E Street Band, but not copy them to the point where it’s cliché,” Shaw said.
“We add a bit of our own flavor and respect the music, that’s priority #1.”
Shaw said it was exceptional when the band members were all in full flight.
“It’s just a driving force in music, you can’t imagine that. It smacks you in the face from the first chord and keeps it there all night.
Such was the nature of Springsteen’s back catalog, Shaw said one of the big challenges was finding a set list that didn’t last five hours.
They had limited it to 26 songs and two and a half hours.
There’s something for everyone, including hits like Born to Run, Born In the USA and The River.
Ever since the band began performing the tribute show, the members had all become huge Springsteen fans.
The Boss was formed in 2017 and, after two years in development, had their first performance in 2019, but Covid-19 prevented them from touring properly.
Much of the group was from Manawatū, along with Shaw and others from the Six Chairs Missing group.
Tickets were available through Ticketek or on site. There was more information about the shows on The Boss – Tribute Show Facebook page.
The band consists of frontman and bassist Adrian Dittmer; frontman and vocalist Shaw; keyboards and vocals Michael Miers; lead guitar and vocals Spex Bryant; lead guitar, mandolin, keyboards and vocals Ben Brunskill; acoustic guitar and vocals Tim Hansen; drums and vocals Mark Hazelwood; and sax and vocals Connor Hurnard.
