Pink recalls kissing Christina Aguilera, “ Lady Marmalade ” look
Pink, unsurprisingly, is ready for anything. Ahead of the premiere of the documentary “Pink: Everything I Know So Far” at the Hollywood Bowl, she spoke with Variety Marc Malkin and discussed the possibility of a “Lady Marmalade” meeting.
“I want to see the reunion with all the young girls now,” Pink said. “I never say anything. All the fun things that have happened in my life are almost by accident.
Patti LaBelle’s 2001 version of “Lady Marmalade” has become a fan favorite of the “Moulin Rouge” soundtrack. In the music video, the powerful group donned burlesque-inspired looks in line with the theme of the film, which took a while for Pink to get used to.
“I was not happy with my outfit,” said Pink. “I didn’t want to be in booty shorts, but I went. The cameras started rolling and I started to feel myself. Now I’m looking at him and I’m like, ‘Oh my god, that body. Why didn’t I like it? ”
One thing she might not be ready for again is playing Spin the Bottle with “Lady Marmalade” collaborator Christina Aguilera. As they recalled her career, Malkin recalled Pink’s birthday party in New York City, where the two pop stars shared a kiss.
“When I was painted instead of a shirt?” Is this the one? Yeah, she kissed me, ”Pink recalled. “It was a fun party.”
Despite the happy memory, she stopped a future recreation of the kiss.
“No, I have a 9 year old boyfriend,” she said, laughing at what her daughter might say, “Does mum kiss Christina?”
“Pink: All I Know So Far,” which chronicles the singer’s life on the road to her debut performance at Wembley Stadium in England, will be released on Amazon Prime on May 21. See the full interview below.
