So many artists, so little time. Every week, we review a handful of new albums (from all genres), round up even more new music that we’d call “indie” and talk about what’s coming out of metal. We post music news, track premieres and more all day. We update a weekly playlist of some of our current favorite tracks. Here is a daily summary with a bunch of interesting and recently released songs in one place.

MURAL (HAIL THE SUN, I THE MIGHTY) – “WINDBREAKEAR” (ft. KAONASHI’S PETER RONO)

Murals is a new project with members of Hail The Sun, I The Mighty, and more, and a rotating cast of singers. Their debut single features the unmistakable screams of Kaonashi’s Peter Rono, and fans of this band should definitely check it out. The song is a tribute to the late Feverwar singer, Nicholous Thomas, and Peter says, “Since Kaonashi is a concept band, I don’t have many opportunities to talk about other things, so I’m very glad to have could do that for him. Feverwar always.”

LAIBACH – “ICH WILL EIN DEUTSCHER BREAST”

Slovenian industrial icons Laibach will release a new album Wir sind das Volk on March 25 via Mute. It presents the music composed by the group for a theatrical production based on the texts of the famous German playwright Heiner Müller (1929-1995). “We followed Heiner Müller’s own strategy of cutting and rearranging the material, taking his text and placing it in another context, restarting it with music, in order to draw the audience into it or ‘get away from it,’ says Laibach. emotions and is therefore a formidable tool of manipulation and a powerful weapon of propaganda. And that’s why a combination of Heiner Müller, who saw the theater as a political institution, and Laibach, can be nothing but a musical. Taste it with “Ich will ein Deutscher sein” (“I want to be German”).

It’ll get your blood pumping. It’ll make your ears bleed (in a good way).
