Listen to the song of the new Supergroup Ft. Nikki Sixx, Rob Zombie
LA Rats, the new supergroup made up of Nikki Sixx, Rob Zombie, John 5 and Tommy Clufetos, released their first single.
Below is the band’s cover of the classic country song “I’ve Been Everywhere” made famous by Johnny Cash. As previously reported, the track is featured on the soundtrack of the new Netflix movie. The ice road, which stars Liam Neeson and arrives on the streaming service on June 25.
As explained by Big Machine Label Group, label boss Scott Borchetta contacted Sixx to see if he wanted to write a song for the film’s soundtrack. Sixx asked Borchetta what kind of song he was looking for. At this point, “I’ve been everywhere” “… was already pointed out as a hope to be included in the film because it really synthesized everything it was talking about.” This led Sixx to offer Borchetta to record a cover of “I’ve Been Everywhere”, and the rest is history.
Sixx said in a statement: “We all grew up believing that big groups don’t play by the rules or obey the speed limit. When I called Rob he said, “I’ve always loved Johnny Cash and I’ve always loved this song. I think that’s what we all share: we all play live and know that there is this magic (which comes from that); there is the swagger that you can feel, that energy that you can feel. This song has it all, and that’s what we’ve been looking for.
