Liam Gallagher | Liam Gallagher calls Chris Martin “a wonderful guy”
Liam Gallagher has hailed Chris Martin ‘a wonderful guy’ – years after he mocked him for looking like a ‘geography teacher’.
The ex-Oasis star berated the Coldplay frontman in 2006 when he punched him for talking about free trade.
He said: “Chris Martin looks like a geography teacher. What’s it like to write posts about free trade? If he wants to write things, I’ll give him a pen and a notepad. Bunch of students.”
The outspoken rocker also said the ‘Yellow’ hitmaker looks like one of the characters from children’s TV show ‘The Tweenies’, while extending his insults to the rest of the band.
He added at the time: “I’m sure he does a good gig, Chris Martin, the amount of money he gets paid. He looks like he’s in The Tweenies. The whole group looks past the shit. Haven’t they seen pictures of the Rolling Stones? Probably not.”
However, when a fan asked Liam, 49, this week if he still thought Chris, 45, was a geography student, he replied: “No, he’s a wonderful guy who brings a lot of ‘love and light to the people. (sic)”
The couple put the past behind them when they performed Oasis hit ‘Live Forever’ at the One Love Manchester benefit concert for victims and families of the terror attack at Ariana Grande’s concert in 2017 in the city, which killed 22 people and injured 500.
The couple also shared a hug on stage.
And Coldplay did a rendition of the Britpop band’s 1995 classic “Don’t Look Back in Anger.”
Liam said: “You have to put all that aside when it comes to this stuff.”
The ‘Wonderwall’ hitmaker apologized backstage and it turns out Chris was very amused by his teasing over the years.
The ‘Wall Of Glass’ singer said: “I walked into the locker room and said ‘I apologize for everything I said before, I was being ad*** ***.’
“[Chris] went: ‘Nah, nah, nah, we fucking love it. So I have a pass.
