HUL and Samsung Electronics present best deals in IIM-A cluster 2 placements

Large consumer goods firm Hindustan Unilever Limited (HUL), Samsung Electronics and CK Birla Group made the highest number of offers at six each, including pre-placement offers (PPO) in the second round of placements finals at the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) in Ahmedabad.
After HUL, Samsung and CK Birla was Lenovo that made five offers in Group 2 of placements for the PGP class of 2021.
Unlike many other B schools, IIM Ahmedabad follows a cluster system of final internship processes where sectors are invited in cohorts at regular intervals. The second group consisted of six cohorts comprising advertising and media, consumer goods, consumer services, consumer electronics, general management and leadership, and B2B and B2C retail companies.
On Friday, IIM Ahmedabad’s new recruiters in Cluster 2 included Bharti Enterprise and Five Holdings.
The Consumer Goods, Consumer Services, and Consumer Electronics cohorts included regular recruiters like Asian Paints, CavinKare, HUL, Indigo, ITC, Lenovo, Nestlé, Reckitt Benckiser, Samsung Electronics, Tata Sky, and Wipro Consumer Care .
In the general management and leadership cohort, regular recruiters such as CK Birla Group, Reliance Industries Limited and RPG Group made the offers. In the Retail B2B & B2C cohort, companies like eShakti, Grofers India Private Limited and Flipkart were among others. A variety of roles were offered in all geographies including the UAE during Cluster 2, IIM-A said.
Previously, the first group of the final investment process consisted of four cohorts – investment banking and markets, management consulting, advisory and private equity consulting, venture capital and asset management, with BCG and McKinsey making the best deals of 32 and 30.
Due to ongoing restrictions related to the COVID-19 pandemic and social distancing standards, IIM-A is leading the entire placement process virtually this year. Recruiters and students will participate virtually in the process. The third cluster will be held on March 8, 2021.
