Christina Aguilera has ‘full circle’ moment as she becomes an actual Disney princess in magical performance
One of the world’s most iconic pop artists, Christina Aguilera returned to Disney World to mark her 50th anniversary with a stunning performance of Mulan’s “Reflection” in front of Cinderella’s Castle at the Magic Kingdom in Lake Buena Vista, Florida.
In a recent Instagram post, Aguilera stood in front of the illuminated castle and famous Walt Disney statue, wearing a white ball gown with a matching tiara, layered beaded jewelry, and stunning silk gloves. Dressed in her dream outfit, she looked like a real princess, which is pretty much every little girl’s dream.
“Forever a Disney girl, always a Disney princess…” she wrote on social networks. “It was a complete experience coming back to my old playground at @WaltDisneyWorld. It was a dream I could only have imagined while working at the Mickey Mouse Club. Disney is always where the magic begins… ”
For her performance, the singer changed into a black blazer dress, with a dazzled heart cut out in the center, revealing a rhinestone corset, paired with sparkling tights and black knee-length boots. In front of thousands of guests, Aguilera shouted with all her heart for the whole park to hear her, prompting an uproar of applause.
“Happy 50th Anniversary of Disney World. I love you always and forever,” she said as she kissed the audience after her performance.
Aguilera made her debut in the music and entertainment industry in 1993, when she became a member of Disney’s Mickey Mouse Club. In 1998, at the age of 17, she then recorded “Reflection” for the animated film Mulan. It’s clear that her voice has only grown stronger since that time, which means her recent performance of this song with “Royal Brave” and “True” in the Magic Kingdom, was nothing short of spectacular. After his stint at Disney, his talents were recognized by several record companies. Ultimately, this experience led her to sign with RCA Records, a year before releasing her self-titled debut album.
As mentioned in his introduction, the superstar has now earned six Grammys over the course of his career. While the days are no longer spent on all things Disney, she still takes the time to go back to her roots and create more magical memories of where it all began for her. Last year, the former Mouseketeer even recorded a remix of “Reflection” for the new live-action movie, more than 22 years after the original version was released. Aguilera is living proof that dreams can truly come true at Disney World.
Aguilera’s performance can be seen on ABC’s “The Most Magical Story on Earth: 50 Years of Walt Disney World” starring several famous guests, including host Whoopi Goldberg.
