Bruce Springsteen returns to Broadway for a 31-show residency in summer 2021

Bruce springsteen announced their return to Broadway in 2021.
Springsteen on Broadway, the acclaimed production which spanned 236 shows at Walter Kerr Theater in 2017 and 2018 and was subsequently published as Netflix special, will open for a series of encore performances at the Saint-Jacques Theater this month.
The limited series of 31 performances will begin on June 26 and end on September 4.
Members of the public will be required to show proof of full Covid-19 vaccination along with their tickets to enter the theater. Entry times will be staggered and participants will be required to complete a Covid-19 health exam within 24 hours of the show.
The announcement marks a significant milestone in the return of the performing arts to New York City. While paid live events were allowed by the city to resume at limited capacity in April, the breadth of full Broadway productions and the audience size needed to make them financially viable have prevented the return of the iconic theater community. from New York. Even though the restrictions eased in the weeks that followed and New York eventually gave the go-ahead to a full audience as long as it was 100% vaccinated, Broadway remained at a standstill.
In early May, the governor of New York Andrew Cuomo and the Broadway League announced that Broadway shows will resume at full capacity on September 14.
In the meantime, however, a show like Springsteen on Broadway serves as a perfect palliative. With a fully done and relatively straightforward show ready to go, a lot of demand and buzz established, a plethora of empty theaters in the area (the St. James was the home of Frozen before the pandemic) and promising vaccination numbers, this is exactly the kind of Broadway production that can work this summer.
