Brooklyn Music Artist Launches New Music To Perform At This Weekend’s Dominican Day Gala
A musical artist from Brooklyn will perform at the Dominican Day Gala and parade this weekend.
The year 2021 is going to be a big one for Bryan Bautista.
“I was able to step into what I always wanted to be all my life, which is an artist,” says Bautista.
The Brooklyn-born singer is also making his debut in new music.
“My new song is called ‘Para mi’, which means ‘For me’,” says Bautista.
Bautista says he feels honored to perform at an event he has experienced all of his life.
“I’ve known the Dominican Day parade since I was a baby,” he says. “We used to go to festivals and parades. Coming back as an artist doing what I love and being able to share it with people is one of those complete moments for me.”
Bautista’s rise to fame began in 2014 when he sang the national anthem at the Barclays Center as an employee.
“I said if you let me do it in my uniform, I think it’s going to go crazy, and it happened!” Bautista remembers.
After that, he became a contestant for season 10 of NBC’s “The Voice”. He then reached the semi-finals with his coach, Christina Aguilera.
Bautista says that despite how far he has come, his music still reflects where he has been.
“Very West Indian, very rhythmic, the vibrations are growing all over BK”, says Bautista and gives advice to other budding musical artists. “It sounds cliché, but follow your dreams and stay consistent.”
Bautista says his dream is to headlining or opening act at the Barclays Center, where it all began.
