Brian May has ‘a bit of eye surgery’
Queen guitarist Brian May has undergone surgery on his left eye.
The 73-year-old rocker shared his experience via a series of Instagram posts.
“A vision! Everything is ready and waiting … for a little eye surgery, ”the guitarist explained in a caption accompanying a photo of himself in a hospital gown. “I am in good hands. No need to worry. All in one day’s work … it should really improve my focus – AND my stereoscopic vision. “
Although May did not specify the reason for her operation, it appeared to be a routine outpatient procedure. Just hours after his initial post, the guitarist uploaded a new image of himself, this time wearing an eye patch.
“And … everything is done !! I really didn’t feel anything,” May noted, adding that the procedure only took “about 20 minutes.” “It was all done with local anesthesia and a little bit of sedation – so I was conscious throughout the process – and mesmerized by this incredible procedure.
“The patch stays in place until tomorrow morning,” May continued, joking that the bandage was “an iPatch! So obviously I’m going to have to take it off and put it back on soon.”
Eye surgery is just the latest addition to a growing list of ailments for the legendary musician.
In May 2020, he was hospitalized after tearing his “Gluteus Maximus to shreds in an over-enthusiastic gardening moment”. It later turned out that the pain was actually the result of a compressed sciatic nerve. Around the same time, the rocker revealed he had survived a heart attack, which was later complicated by his adverse drug reaction. Can also ‘almost lost [his] life ”as a result of stomach bleeding.
