True Tides Cork Trio have released their new single, Beating heart. We asked singer Cian the BIG questions. . .

The three brothers have had a busy few years, including an RTÉ Choice Music Prize nomination for Song of the Year and Cian teaming up with Kodaline’s Steve Garrigan to write songs for Westlife’s latest albumalongside Ed Sheeran.

They also co-wrote Norwegian DJ Matoma’s new single and collaborated with The Coronas. The three brothers were invited to sing alongside Sinéad O Connor on The Cranberries cover album Hi and attended JJ Abrams’ Oscar Wilde party in Los Angeles as part of this year’s Oscars week.

Talk about Beating heart, says Cian; “I often struggle with my OCD and can get lost in my obsessions, whether it’s music or my own thoughts, which can be very isolating.

“For me, this song is an ode to those people who remind me of what really matters; the human connection.”

True Tides are supporting Kodaline on June 17th at Malahide Castle, Dublin and playing the main stage at Sea Sessions, Bundoran on June 18th.

Tell us three things about yourself?

I’m the lead singer of True Tides with my two brothers, Conor and Eoghan. I play sax (listen to the solo on Strive by the Coronas that I co-write with Danny!). I co-wrote two songs on Westlife’s latest album, End of time and Always with me.
