Apple TV + to Introduce New ‘Peanuts’ Holiday Special

Last year, Apple TV + acquired the past and future rights Peanuts content including A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving, A Charlie Brown Christmas, and other beloved holiday specials.
Now like Simplest reports, the streamer is about to create a new Peanuts special holiday this Friday December 10. Although Charlie Brown has not lent his name to the title of itâSnoopy Presents: For Auld Lang Syne– he’ll be in it, running to fulfill his New Year’s resolutions in the last hours of the year. Meanwhile, Lucy tries to redeem her mediocre Christmas by throwing an unforgettable New Years celebration.
As Variety points out, this is not the first New Years special in the Peanuts franchise. In 1986, CBS debuted Happy New Year Charlie Brown, in which Peppermint Patty throws a New Years party while Charlie is concerned about a book report on War and peace. Corn For Auld Lang Syne will be Apple’s first original holiday special. It was produced by WildBrain Studios in collaboration with Charles M. Schulz Creative Associates; Schulz Craig and Craig’s son son Bryan are both executive producers i.e. Peanuts production is still a family affair.
To pass the time before For Auld Lang Syne on screens, Apple TV + subscribers can review the rest of the Peanuts vacation programs, which are already available for streaming. Including It’s Christmas again, Charlie Brown, a 1992 television special that brought together a number of festive short films. In one, for example, the children are getting ready for a Christmas play; in another, Charlie Brown tries his hand as a crown seller. The special, written by Charles Schulz himself, just hit Apple TV + earlier this month.
