70 years later, Springsteen still visits the same Jersey Shore town
Bruce Springsteen has a deep connection to Manasquan.
Her father would spend hours sitting in the cove of the coastal town, watching the boats come in from the Atlantic Ocean.
As a child, Springsteen walked the pier and “gazed into the black Atlantic void …” Born to Run “autobiography.
In his early 20s, Bruce visited The Osprey bar, just off the beach in Monmouth County, for his first drink: a shot of Jose Cuervo tequila.
And now, the 71-year-old rock icon still stops by his favorite Shore Burg. The boss was spotted in the town’s Surf and Sun store on Friday across from The Osprey.
“He was really nice,” Leah Tilton, a store worker, told NJ Advance Media. “He just did a little shopping, bought some sweatshirts. We tried not to disturb him.
Tilton, a resident of Manasquan, mentioned she was a fan and took a selfie with Springsteen shirtless.
Springsteen is regularly seen in County Monmouth as he lives just 10 minutes from his native Freehold, on a sprawling horse farm at Colts Neck. He was spotted in May at his beloved Jersey Freeze ice cream shop in Freehold by a fan.
This shows that once a boy from Jersey, always a boy from Jersey.
