Christina Aguilera released a hit 2000s album inspired by the 1920s, 1930s and 1940s
During an interview with Billboard, Aguilera discussed the concept behind her album Back to the roots. “My vision for this record was to go back to old blues, jazz and soul music, the music that I love and that inspires me with all my heart, [and] combine [that] with visuals from some of the best eras, I think, with the return to old Hollywood glamor, that kind of retro, pin-up sexuality, ”she said.
“You know, I thought the 20’s, 30’s and 40’s were such an interesting elements to combine with the feel, the look and the sound, so it was very exciting and I wanted the whole label to be on the same wavelength with me and being in this crazy race that I wanted to continue with the record, “she added. Aguilera said she wanted to Back to the roots be retro. Notably, one of the album’s most famous songs, “Ain’t No Other Man,” has an old-fashioned jazzy beat.

Aguilera didn’t write the song alone. Kara DioGuardi was one of the song’s co-authors. DioGuardi is best known for having served as a judge in the eighth and ninth seasons of American Idol. She has also co-written songs for Britney Spears, Gwen Stefani, Celine Dion and many other artists.
During an interview with the Tampa Bay Times, DioGuardi discussed the origin of “Ain’t No Other Man”. “Christina and I have found a common thread,” said DioGuardi. “At the time, I wasn’t in a romantic relationship, but she was. We wrote the melody and the lyrics of the song (beats, samples). We made the song evolve. If you can dream it, she can sing it.
